Just moments before puck drop today in Calgary, Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Travis Sanheim was made a healthy scratch by head coach John Tortorella.

Sanheim, a Manitoba native who played his junior hockey in Calgary, took the warmup for this afternoon' game between the Flyers and the Calgary Flames but then was ultimately told to undress and to take a seat in the press box for the game. Sanheim reportedly also has family in the arena to watch today's game.

There are rumors that Sanheim may be involved in a trade, but no reputable insider has reported on those rumors just yet. Stay tuned for more on that.

It's worth noting though that Sanheim signed an eight year, $50 million contract extension this past offseason that doesn't even kick in until next season. Again, stay tuned.
