The Philadelphia Flyers announced this morning that Chairman Dave Scott will be retiring from the organization after 30 years of service. Taking over for him will be Comcast CEO Dan Hilferty.
From the Flyers via NHL insider Elliotte Friedman:
The Flyers, of course, also dismissed general manager Chuck Fletcher earlier this month replacing him with interim GM and former Flyers forward Daniel Briere. It remains to be seen whether or not the Flyers will commit to Briere as the team's full-time GM, but it's clear that he's the frontrunner for the position and he has certainly carried himself as if he's the team's big boss man moving forward.
