Flyers’ Matvei Michkov involved in car crash under troubling circumstances!
While on vacation, Michkov’s plans came to a halt and the details have many concerned. More details below:
Everyone who watched the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2024-25 season knows how impressive rookie forward Matvei Michkov was, even though the team fell to reach the postseason and fired John Tortorella before the end of the regular calendar.
Under Torts, Michkov scored 20 times in 71 games, adding 31 assists and a minus-17 plus-minus rating. Once Brad Shaw came in to replace as interim coach behind Philly’s bench, the Russia forward exploded for six goals, six assists, and 12 points in just nine contests.
When he headed back home, Michkov felt he deserved some well-earned time off.
However, fun things came to a halt earlier this week, when it was reported by Alexey Shevchenko from “Sport-Express” that Michkov had been involved in a car accident while on vacation in Dubai. The photo shows the car that was rented in Michkov’s name, though it was reported that he was not the driver at the time of the accident. However, he wasn’t the one behind the wheel at the time of the incident, which in itself is a violation. And yet, that’s only the tip of the iceberg.
According to information shared by Shevchenko on his Telegram channel, the situation is marred by suspicious behavior: alcohol consumption, the presence of sex workers, and irregularities with identification documents. The most troubling part? It appears that Michkov may have left the country without proper administrative clearance — a fact that could stir up significant controversy in the coming days.
As for Michkov’s health status, the Flyers organization has been informed of the situation and confirms that he was not injured in the crash.
Let’s hope for the best for Michkov, no matter what happens next in this saga.
