Philadelphia Flyers rookie Joel Farabee has just made quite the impression on the Winnipeg Jets, but unfortunately he has done so in all the wrong ways.

The Flyers and the Jets faced off on Sunday evening and for the second consecutive night in a row Farabee did his talking through his physical play. This time around it was Mathieu Perreault who was on the receiving end of the physical play from Farabee but there is no question here that the young Flyers forward crossed the line with his hit on Perrault. Perreault was recovering the puck along the end boards and quickly made a pass up along the boards to a teammate and it was not until long after the puck had left his stick that Farabee came into the play. Perreault turned around just in time to see the Flyers forward charging right at him, but by that time it was too late for Perreault to react.

The Jets forward was taken completely off his feet by the hit and landed awkwardly on his rear end when he finally did come back down to the ice, and it was obvious that he was feeling the impact of that fall. The Jets training staff came out to assist him but even after several long moments Perreault was unable to get up under his own power and had to be carried off the ice by his teammates. He was grimacing the entire time as he was helped off the ice but hopefully he's going to be ok.

Farabee was awarded a 5 minute major and was promptly ejected from the game for his late hit, and there was almost no question that it was a blatant display of interference on the part of the Flyers forward. In spite of that penalty however I would expect that Perreault is going to be looking for revenge the next time he faces the young rookie, and that could mean bad news for Farabee. The Flyers forward was involved in another incident on Saturday night when he dropped the gloves with veteran Marcus Foligno. That one did not turn out so well for him, so it will be interesting to see if he answers the bell next time.
