This may be a disaster for the Philadelphia Flyers.

The Flyers saw their 19-year-old rookie forward Travis Konecny go down this evening after he lost his balance and crashed awkwardly into the boards, and all the news since then has not be reassuring.

First CSN Philly has reported that Konecny suffered both a knee and ankle sprain, although the severity of the injury remains uncertain. General manager Ron Hextall has stated he will provide further details on Tuesday but thanks to Flyers insider Sam Carchiddi we already know that Konecny was spotted leaving the arena in a walking boot.

The Flyers are currently in an extremely tight race for the playoffs, and this is the type of injury they call ill afford at the moment.
