The Flyers got some business done on Thursday, signing prospect Pascal Laberge to his first National Hockey League contract.

The team released the following official statement:

The Philadelphia Flyers have signed 2016 second-round draft pick Pascal Laberge to an entry-level contract, according to general manager Ron Hextall.

Laberge, 18 (4/9/1998), was selected by the Flyers in the second round (36th overall) of last month’s NHL Entry Draft. The 6-1, 175-lb forward was the second of 10 selections by the Flyers in the draft and the first of three second-round picks made by the team.

The young center turned a lot of heads in the QMJHL when he put up 68 points last season for the Victoriaville Tigers in just 56 games played, and it's also likely why the Flyers feel he can a contributor on their squad.
