Flyers Stage A Very Public Protest Against The NHL's New Rule.

The National Hockey League set out to make an example of the Philadelphia Flyers, or at least one Flyer in particular, but the way the team has responded may cause the entire thing to backfire terribly for the league.

As many of you reading this will already know, Flyers forward Trevor Zegras made NHL history last week when he became the very first player to be disciplined under the league's new rule regarding jerseys being tucked into pants while playing out on the ice.

There was a big stink made about the move on social media but it seemed as though nothing would come of it, at least not until the Flyers stepped out onto the ice for warm-ups on Saturday night. At that point it became clear that the Flyers themselves intended to stage a little protest of their own, with all of their players hitting the ice with their jerseys firmly tucked into their pants.

Something tells me the NHL won't love having their new rules publicly flaunted in such a fashion, but with so many players on board with this protest it will be interesting to see how the league reacts.
