The Philadelphia Flyers have just trade veteran forward Nicolas Deslauriers to the Carolina Hurricanes, a rival of the Metropolitan division.

Philly is receiving a conditional seventh round pick in return.

And Carolina just got tougher!

Deslauriers is in his final year of that four-year, $7-million contract that he inked all the way back in the summer of 2022. He will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, at 35 years of age.

The guy is a real team soldier and gets a shot at the postseason with the Canes.

Earlier today, the Flyers also traded Bobby Brink with David Jiricek coming back to Philly. This is sort of a return home for Brink, who is a Minnesota native. A pending restricted free agent this summer, he is a talented winger that has recorded 13 goals and 26 points in 55 games with Philadelphia.

There was also the Boston Bruins, who acquired Massimo Rizzo and Alexis Gendron from Philly in return for Brett Harrison and Jackson Edward in an AHL swap.
