Flyers Youth coach caught berating female teenage referee in viral video.
The Philadelphia Flyers organization has come under the microscope over the weekend for all the wrong reasons after a viral video has started to spread like wildfire on social media.
The video, reportedly filmed during a Flyers Youth Hockey Club Under 10 game, purports to show the coach of the Flyers Youth U10 team verbally berating a teenage referee. In the video we can clearly see a male coach leaning over the boards and berating what appears to be a female referee, getting right up in her face and screaming at the top of his lungs while doing so.
The screaming is so loud in fact that we can hear everything he is saying as it was picked up by the video cameras despite clearly being far away from the incident itself, which gives you a pretty good idea of just how loud the yelling was.
At one point the female referee very clearly becomes uncomfortable with how loud and close the coach is getting and puts her hand on his chest in an effort to distance herself from the enraged man screaming in her face.
You can see the video of the incident below:
The Flyers Youth Hockey Club has been made aware of the viral video and has responded with the following statement:
The Flyers Youth Hockey Club is aware of the coach's behavior toward a referee on December 20, 2025.
We unequivocally do not condone this behavior under any circumstances.
Once the incident was brought to our attention, immediate action was taken, resulting in an indefinite disciplinary suspension for the coach from all Flyers Youth activities.
Flyers Youth Hockey Club has a strict zero-tolerance policy for any form of abuse directed towards our referees. We hold all members-coaches, players, and parents—to the highest standards of conduct.
We are committed to ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all involved in youth hockey.
