Former 1st round pick and top prospect signs PTO with new team
Last shot at glory for the 2nd generation NHLer.
HockeyFeed
According to a report from Carolina Hurricanes insider Walt Ruff, the team has signed former New York Islanders and Philadelphia Flyers forward Kieffer Bellows to a professional tryout (PTO) contract.
The 25 year old forward has struggled to hold down a full-time NHL job and has bounced around the past couple seasons. He played 27 games with the Flyers last season, putting up just three goals. He managed 10 points in 12 games with the team's AHL affiliate Lehigh Valley Phantoms also
His best season came in 2021-22 with the Islanders, when he put up six goals and 19 points in 45 games.
I suspect that this will be the last NHL shot for the former 1st round (19th overall, 2016) selection.
