The Chicago Blackhawks may be about to add another talented forward to their line up.

While there is nothing official just yet, in fact there can't be anything official until free agency officially begins on the first of July, Blackhawks insider Scott Burnside of The Athletic is reporting that the Blackhawks may have lured in a free agent talent.

According to Burnside, a source has informed him that both the Blackhawks and free agent forward Sam Gagner have expressed mutual interest in one another leading up to free agency in just a few days.

Gagner has never truly lived up to his potential since being drafted 6th overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2007 National Hockey League draft, but he is coming off arguably the best season of his career with the Blue Jackets.

Gagner put up 50 points last season in Columbus, and the Blackhawks may believe that he can continue to excel among their group of talented forwards.
