A former first round picks lackluster performance has left both himself and his team very frustrated.

When asked about being scratched for multiple games in a row former fifth overall pick Ryan Strome couldn't hide his frustration at the situation. The worst part for Strome is he doesn't seem to know what he needs to do about it.

“It doesn’t really matter what I think . . . I’ve either got to play better or find a way to make them more happy, I guess,” Strome said as per Newsday's Arthur Staple. “You can talk all you want about what you do or don’t do; obviously we’re not winning, so something’s got to change.”

Islanders management has been under fire this season so Strome may find more sympathy than one would normally expect from the fan base, and when asked about his relationship with Jack Capuano, the Islanders coach who has been on the hot seat all season, Strome once again seemed both confused and frustrated.

“I think [it’s good], I don’t know,” he said. “Maybe ask him.”

When Strome was drafted fifth overall in 2011 expectations were very high and he hasn't lived up to them at all in New York. One has to wonder if a change of scenerey wouldn't be better for both sides at this point.
