Former Flyer slams the team over offseason decisions.

He can't believe what he has been seeing.

The Philadelphia Flyers are currently taking a ton of heat from their fan base after it was reported that the Flyers never truly made any effort to acquire big ticket free agent Johnny Gaudreau. Gaudreau's desire to come play for the Flyers was a poorly kept secret, but in spite of that general manager Chuck Fletcher never made the necessary cap room to make a play for Gaudreau, and in the end he would sign with the Columbus Blue Jackets for 7 years at a average annual value and cap hit of $9.75 million.

It is one thing when your fans are giving you heat though, and another matter entirely when your former players come out of the woodwork to let you know how they feel.

Over the weekend former Philadelphia Flyer Chris Therien took to social media to express his disgust at what the Flyers had done thus far in the offseason. Therien's comments came in response to a tweet that highlighted just how much of an impact Johnny Gaudreau was already having on his new team. While I don't want to read too much into Therien's comments, it seemed very much like he was lamenting the fact that Gaudreau's impact was being made on the Flyers instead of the Blue Jackets.

"Well isn't this interesting [Flyers people]," said Therien in response to the Blue Jackets' spike in season ticket sales. "But hey we still got the 30th pick in the first round! Life is always about finding that silver lining gang! Have a great weekend everyone!"

Not everyone agrees with Therien though, and another former Flyer in Scott Hartnell chimed in with a response of his own.

"[Chris] I just love your positivity with the [Flyers] organization!!" said Hartnell. "A team that you played pretty much your whole career for! Man it would of been fun to be your teammate! Sick of it! Glass half empty for you!!!"

Despite being admonished by Hartnell though, Therien doubled down and expressed just how down he was on his former team.

"Honest-to-God Hartsy this has been painful to watch happen," responded Therien. "And it's heart breaking. Sad actually. No way to spin it. I did that for years."

The comments are all that much more damning when you consider that, outside of 11 games with the Dallas Stars, Therien spent his entire NHL career with the Flyers organization.
