Former Habs' enforcer suggests to trade Weber, Pacioretty and Price!

No, this is NOT a joke!

Since the Montreal Canadiens were only able to record one win since the start of the 2017-18 season, some people suggested the team should "tank", which means losing intentionally in order to finish dead last in the league and have as many chances as possible to land the #1 pick in the draft.

However, former Habs' enforcer Georges Laraque has a pretty simple solution that is less painful for the fans, but just as controversial: trade away all your best players for draft picks, while they're worth something. Here's what he said on 91,9FM today:

"Geoff Molson, I am talking to you. Here's what you should do. You don't need to tank to have a good team in two or three years. Forget the "tanking". All you need to do is trade away the players that are 28 years or older."

He added that the 2018, 2019 and 2020 drafts are going to be extremely good, which means it would be a good idea to stack first-round picks:

"You can have a bunch of first-round picks if you trade away the players you currently have. You could also focus on young players! But honestly, you really need to get rid of Shea Weber, Max Pacioretty and Carey Price."

WOW! Do you imagine Marc Bergevin trading away three of his best assets? That would be completely insane. Laraque believes that even though the Habs could acquire players like Matt Duchene or John Tavares, they wouldn't even make the playoffs anyways.

Would you do what he suggests?
