In case you missed it earlier this week Washington Capitals defenseman Rasmus Sandin was on the latest episode of the 32 Thoughts podcast with Sportsnet NHL insider Elliotte Friedman.

In discussing his trade from the Toronto Maple Leafs to the Capitals, Sandin shared that the teammate he missed most if fellow Swede William Nylander. In particular, Sandin shared what it's like to be in Nylander's "inner circle" as one of his best friends.

"He really cares and if you're in his inner circle, being close to him, he's all about his family, all about his friends. If I called him and asked him to stop what he's doing and do something for me, he would do it. If you're in his inner circle and you know him, he's the best guy ever."

Leafs fans may remember that Sandin was traded to the Capitals during a Leafs practice and was promptly walked out of the building by Nylander himelf.

Remember this?

Friedman asked Sandin about this moment, which prompted a pretty thoughtful response:

"When we walked off, I think that was really cool and he was kind of saying 'don't cry yet, cameras are around,' "He was telling me stuff like that and that it was good and just wished me the best. We still talk every single day."
