One has to believe that New York Islanders general manager Garth Snow is on the hot seat for this signing.

After signing a huge seven year $38.5 million contract this summer the expectations for veteran forward and former Winnipeg Jets captain Andrew Ladd were very high, and there's no doubt that he has failed entirely to meet those lofty expectations.

After the first twelve games of the season Ladd has managed just a single point, an assist, and on Monday it was revealed that his coach may be losing faith in his ability to play a big role in the Islanders system.

According to a report from Newday's Arthur Staple, Ladd has been bumped all the way down to the fourth line, and one would imagine that if he remains in that role, he will see limited playing time. No matter how you look at it, this is a disaster for a player you signed for $5.5 million per season just a few months ago.
