Former NHL defenseman Gerry Hart has died.
The former Detroit Red Wings, New York Islanders, Quebec Nordiques, and St. Louis Blues defenseman passed away, his family has confirmed.
I have some sad news to bring you on this Saturday.
The New York Islanders have now officially confirmed the passing of former National Hockey League defenseman Gerry Hart, Hart was just 75 years old.
Hart touched the hearts of many fans during his tenrure in the NHL as an undersized defenseman with a reputation for playing bigger than his size. He also played for a number of teams earning fans in several NHL markets, spending time with the Detroit Red Wings, New York Islanders, Quebec Nordiques, and St. Louis Blues.
During his NHL career he would appear in a total of 730 games, recording 29 goals and 150 assists along the way for 179 career points in the NHL.
My thoughts and condolences go out to Hart's family, friends, and all of those who loved him.
