A former NHL enforcer has been suspended from coaching for involving himself in a youth brawl.

According to Yahoo Sports, former Buffalo Sabres enforcer Andrew Peters has been suspended indefinitely from coaching the Jr. Sabres after he punched a 15-year old during a brawl between oppossing teams.

“We are very disappointed in the series of events that unfolded during the 15U Buffalo Jr. Sabres game on Saturday,” said Buffalo Jr. Sabres President Kevyn Adams in a statement to local media outlets. “We are currently reviewing the situation and in the meantime have suspended Head Coach Andrew Peters indefinitely until the matter is resolved.”

A video shows a brawl between the Jr. Sabres and Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs on Saturday, and appears to show Peters punch one of the Bulldogs' players once the fight spilled onto the bench.

The Buffalo News and WIVB-4 said that Buffalo police said they are investigating the fight.

The 36-year-old Peters played with the Buffalo Sabres from 2003-04 through 2008-09. Peters played 229 NHL games and racked up 650 penalty minutes while scoring four goals and adding three assists.

This man made his living fighting tough guys, but this seems inexcusable.
