Former NHL forward Michael Ryder charged with impaired driving!
Never a good decision to drink and then get behind the wheel.
Former NHL forward Michael Ryder, who was a key member of the 2011 Boston Bruins Stanley Cup championship squad, was recently charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood-alcohol level over the legal limit, and was represented in provincial court in St. John's last week by an attorney.
The incident took place on February 12 in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland.
Ryder played 17 seasons in the NHL after being drafted by the Montreal Canadiens, with whom he spent two tenures. He also suited up for the Bruins, Dallas Stars, and New Jersey Devils over the course of his career that saw him score 237 goals and 484 points, the most for a Newfoundland native.
