Former NHL player Nic Kerdiles has tragically been taken from us far too soon, the Anaheim Ducks have announced.

The National Hockey League is in mourning today as a member of the hockey community has been taken from us far too soon.

On Saturday afternoon, the Anaheim Ducks confirmed that former Ducks forward Nicolas Kerdiles had tragically passed away after being involved in a fatal motorcycle accident. Kerdiles was just 29 years of age at the time.

The former 2nd round pick (36th overall) of the Ducks at the 2012 NHL Entry Draft became the first player from Orange County to play for the Ducks in franchise history, although he would only go on to appear in 3 NHL games. Kerdiles spent most of his time in the American Hockey League as a member of the Norfolk Admirals, the San Diego Gulls, and the Manitoba Moose.

My condolences go out to the Kerdiles family, as well as to all of Nic's loved ones.
