The Dallas News reports that former NHL forward Mike Ribeiro has been charged with sexual assault stemming from a pair of incidents last June in East Texas.

It has been reported per the court records that Ribeiro was indicted on two counts of sexual assault in Franklin County on April 13. Public records show that Ribeiro, a Tennessee resident, owns lakefront property in Mount Vernon, about 100 miles northeast of Dallas.

After all, Ribeiro played for the Stars for six seasons.

According to the indictments, Ribeiro is accused of sexual assaulting two women on June 23. Still per the indictments, Ribeiro allegedly assaulted one woman with his finger and another with his “sexual organ.” He was arrested April 28 and released on $200,000 bond the same day, according to jail records.

This is not the first time Ribeiro is accused of sexual assault. Back in 2015, a former nanny sued him and his wife, saying the former NHLer allegedly assaulted her in 2012. The woman was the family’s babysitter for six years when Ribeiro played for the Stars. She was asked to help the family move into their new home in McLean, Va., after Ribeiro was traded.

The lawsuit said the woman, who was just 18 at the time, was sleeping in the basement with two of Ribeiro’s children when he sexually assaulted her. It also mentioned other instances where the woman said Ribeiro touched her inappropriately — grabbing her leg or touching her backside — or made her feel uncomfortable while working with the family.

That lawsuit was later settled in July 2015 after eight hours of mediation, all per court records.

Ribeiro played ifor the Montreal Canadiens before being traded to Dallas in 2006. With the Stars, he made one All-Star team, in 2008, and led the team in points for three seasons. Ribeiro later played for the Washington Capitals, the Phoenix Coyotes and the Nashville Predators before the end of his career in 2017.

And it’s been downhill since with drug issues, bitter divorce and now sexual assault charges.
