He cannot believe it!

The Vancouver Canucks have to be planning something else before Friday’s deadline. On Wednesday, the Canucks baffled fans and reporters when they acquired defenseman Filip Hronek and Detroit’s 2023 4th round pick in exchange for the conditional 1st round draft pick acquired in the Bo Horvat trade with the New York Islanders and Vancouver’s 2nd round pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.

Moments later, the Ottawa Senators won the Jakob Chychrun sweepstakes, paying way less than first expected, sending only a conditional first-round draft pick in ’23, a conditional second-round selection in ’24 (previously acquired from the Washington Capitals) and a second-round pick in ’26.

Former NHLer and host of the Spittin Chichlets Ryan Whitney could not believe the trade in Vancouver and openly mocked the Canucks for the questionable move.

“Vancouver paid more for Hronek,” he posted with a laughing emoji.

There is still time out before Friday for the Canucks to make another trade and possibly explain this stunning move on Wednesday.

Many reporters believe there is more in story in Vancouver - if not - they will also have to mock the Canucks like Whitney didn’t hold back on doing.

What’s next for the Canucks you think?
