Former NHLer signs deal to become one for the first KHL players in China!

The sudden and unexpected expansion of the Kontinental Hockey League into China has provided a unique and potentially lucrative option for several players, and some including Natiopnal Hockey League veterans are taking the oppurtunity.

Joining the ranks of the KHL's new expansion franchise Red star Kunlun will be none other than veteran forward Alexei Ponikarovsky who has spent his last few seasons in the ranks of the KHL.

Ponikarovsky will bring a wealth of experience to the team, with over 600 NHL games under belt and that doesn't factor in the last three KHL seasons he participated in. He will now play in front of what has the potential to be the largest audience he has ever reached, and he's likely excited for the opportunity at this stage of his career.
