Former OHLer formally charged after crazy video goes viral

Last week an Instagram video went viral in the golf world with golf fans everywhere weighing in on the the absolutely unhinged behaviour of an angry golfer in said video.
Ziregolf, a very popular golf Instagram account, posted the video last week generating more than 3.6 million views and over 5,500 comments.

Police in Sault St. Marie, Ontario have now confirmed that the angry offender in this video is former OHL defenseman Joel Sandie who was charged with assault with a weapon due to his actions at the Sault St. Marie Golf Club on September 2nd, 2023.
Sandie played for the Kingston Frontenacs, Cornwall Royals, Sudbury Wolves and London Knights between the years of 1990 and 1993, but failed to turn his junior career into a pro hockey career. A quick Google search of his name seems to indicate that he transitioned into the real estate industry once his hockey career ended. He's due in court next month to answer to his charges.
