Former Red Wings Cup winner Marty Pavelich has died

The extended Detroit Red Wings family has suffered a loss today with the passing of Marty Pavelich, who was the last surviving member of Detroit's Cup-winning teams of the 1950s. He was 96 years old.
Along with the likes of franchise icons Gordie Howe, Ted Lindsay and Terry Sawchuk, Pavelich helped the Red Wings to multiple Stanley Cup victories in the 1950s and quickly developed a reputation during his career of being one of the best defensive forwards in hockey.
He appeared in 634 NHL games, all with Detroit, scoring 93 goals and 159 assists. He also contributed 13 goals and 15 assists in 91 postseason games.
