He’s batting a thousand!

Detroit Red Wings forward Adam Erne netted his first two goals of the season during tonight’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets, both coming in the first period!

He beat Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Joonas Korpisalo with a quick snapshot after completing a give-and-go passing play with forward Frans Nielsen...safe to say he was pretty happy! His celebration was both a look of thrill and relief!

His second goal was the result of a broken play; defenseman Madison Bowey fired a shot on net that was deflected right to Erne at the side of the goal by teammate Luke Glendening. Erne had the wide open net to fire at, and he made no mistake:

Before tonight, he had recorded 32 shots on goal this season and hadn’t been able to beat any goaltender. He’ll surely remember tonight for a long time!
