It was a tough early exit for the Sharks this year and most fans are still feeling the pain of it all. One of the major stories of the series played was the injury Joe Thornton suffered only a few games before the Playoff. He played through the pain and many asked if his knee would heal properly.

Insider Andy Strickland revealed some information about the issue and how Thornton saw the future.

So there are two things to be understood here. First, Thornton expects to be back at 100% for next season. We knew he had a rehab plan schedule all the way to next year's first puck drop and things seem to be going well.

There were also persistent rumors about his supposed intentions to retire after this season. Quoting this Tweet, we understand he plans on playing ''several more'' NHL seasons, which is a pretty clear message to the league. Jumbo Joe is still around and will be for a long of games to come.

Good news all around!
