The good news for the New York Rangers is that goaltender Jonathan Quick has rebounded from a subpar showing in the preseason, sporting an undefeated record in his first regular season with the Blueshirts following last night's 5-3 victory at the Garden over the visiting Original 6 rival Detroit Red Wings.
The bad news is that he was starting thanks to an injury to All-Star Igor Shesterkin, who remains day to day with his ailment. And now, Quick is joining him on the shelf. He's been listed as day to day with an upper body injury, forcing the Rangers to call up reinforcements from the American Hockey League affiliate Hartford Wolf Pack. On their way to the Rangers are Louis Domingue, Dylan Garand and Connor Mackey.
