Full breakdown of the 2025 Selke Trophy voting.
A full breakdown of every player who received a vote for the 2025 Selke Trophy.
The National Hockey League has officially announced this year's Selke Trophy winner with Florida Panthers captain Aleksander Barkov being declared this year's winner. There is however always a ton of debate surrounding these awards and it is clear that not everyone is going to agree with every decision, so with that in mind today I am bringing you a full breakdown of how this year's votes for the award played out.
Now if you happen to be of the opinion that Barkov did not deserve the award I regret to inform you that you are in the overwhelming minority with Barkov winning this award quite convincingly, collecting a whopping 1363 points from those who voted for him. Barkov received 96 first place votes, by far the most of any player on this list, on his way to a clear win.
For context, Barkov's teammate Sam Reinhart received the second highest point total but only collected 837 points from the votes he received and only 29 first place votes, a wide gap when compared to Barkov.
There were of course a number of other players who deserved recognition for this award and the top 6 all received at least 200 points of their own, an acknowledgement of the solid seasons they each had as well. That top six of course includes the aforementioned Barkov and Reinhart as well as the Tampa Bay Lightning's Anthony Cirelli, the New Jersey Devils' Nico Hischier, the Vegas Golden Knights' Jack Eichel and the Edmonton Oilers' Leon Draisaitl.
