Game 1 between Caps and Islanders gets rescheduled!

The Boston Bruins and Carolina Hurricanes were supposed to play the first game of their series last night, however, it was postponed to Wednesday morning at 11ET when the first contest of the series between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Columbus Blue Jackets went into fifth overtime, making it impossible for the Bruins and Canes to jump on the ice after that.

Well, the story might be repeating itself.

Despite an 11ET start, the Bruins and Canes’ game is now going into the time frame of the one between the Washington Capitals and New York Islanders.

The Bruins and Hurricanes were tied at 3-3 after three periods, forcing the first contest of that series to head into overtime. The first period of overtime started at 2ET, which does not give the NHL the mandated 75 minutes period to clean the ice, benches and dressing rooms to get the Caps and Isles’ game going at 3ET in Toronto.

Therefore, it is being rescheduled to later today.

Last night, the game between the Bolts and Jackets lasted over six hours with its start time at 3h09ET, ending at 9h22…

Can you imagine if this one goes for that long?

That would mean that the Montreal Canadiens and Philadelphia Flyers’ start time could also get postponed to later tonight or even tomorrow.
