Detroit to host new Habs team

According to Brian Wilde, head coach Claude Julien of the Montreal Canadiens has confirmed that Pacioretty, Radulov, Price and Markov will not make the trip to Detriot for their final regular season game.  Other key players not making the trip include Weber and Emelin who are both out due to injury.  Charlie Lindgren will get the start between the pipes, with Montoya as his back up.  Lindgren only has two NHL starts in his career.

The Canadiens have clinched the top seed in the Atlantic division with 101 points.  It makes sense that they are sitting their main players for this final game, to ensure that they enter the playoffs as a healthy team.

As for the Detriot Red Wings, they will definitely be up against a different, younger Montreal Canadiens team.  It is almost as if they are playing an AHL team with six top players out of the Candiens line up tonight.  Even though they are out of the playoff race, Detroit should be able to beat Montreal tonightat the Joe Louis Arena.  However, with the tough season they’ve had, maybe it will be a good match up.
