The 16-9-1 Toronto Maple Leafs continue their Western Canadian road trip tonight as they take on the 10-13-2 Edmonton Oilers from the brand new Rogers Place arena in Edmonton, Alberta.

All eyes will be on marquee players Auston Matthews and Connor McDavid as the pair of superstars get set to face off in Alberta’s capital.

Leafs head coach Mike Babcock has jumbled his lines once again, this time with sophomore Mitch Marner earning a promotion to the team’s top line due in part to his strong play earlier this week against the Calgary Flames. Connor Brown gets bumped to the 2nd line in Marner’s place. The 2nd and 3rd lines get jumbled up a bit too with Tyler Bozak moving up and Nazem Kadri moving down.

Here are the forward lines:

Zach Hyman - Auston Matthews - Mitch Marner
Patrick Marleau - Tyler Bozak - Connor Brown
James van Riemsdyk - Nazem Kadri - Leo Komarov
Matt Martin - Dominic Moore - William Nylander

On defence, it’s business as usual:

Moran Rielly - Ron Hainsey
Jake Gardiner - Nikita Zaitsev
Andreas Borgman - Roman Polak

No changes in goal either:

Frederik Andersen
Curtis McElhinney

With the Oilers expected to start back-up Laurent Brossoit, is it surprising that Babcock decided to go with Freddy in goal? I mean… it’s tough to argue given the goalie’s record in November, but it just seems like the perfect opportunity to give him a break.

In any case, Go, Leafs go!
