According to Sportsnet broadcaster and Vancouver Canucks insider Dan Murphy, Anders Nilsson will get the start in net for the team tonight as they take on the New York Islanders from Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.
Nilsson has been dynamite for the Canucks this season after signing a two-year deal with the team on the opening day of free-agency this past offseason. In just seven starts the 27-year-old Swedish giant has five wins, a 2.25 GAA and a remarkable .934 save percentage.
While starter Jacob Markstrom has gotten the lion’s share of the crease in Vancouver this season with 18 starts, his .263 GAA and .909 save percentage pale in comparison to Nilsson’s. Maybe it’s time for Nilsson to see a little more action?
