As reported earlier, Gustav Nyquist missed the Red Wings today’s practice and it wasn’t sure if he was to play or not. Doubts can now be cleared, as the Swedish forward just confirmed he will be in the lineup tonight against the Tampa Bay lightning.
It appears that Nyquist will regain his place on the top line right wing, alongside Henrik Zetterberg and Tomas Tatar. Although most would agree it has been a down year for him, the 27 years old winger still managed to put himself as one of the team’s most productive player, with 10 goals and 27 assists. His 37 points put him as the team’s third best scorer, just behind his two linemates.
It also looks like coach Jeff Blashill will continue his goalie rotation, as Petr Mrazek will be back in goal tonight.
