Giroux clarifies intentions regarding possible trade.

He's as clear as ever about this.

This year was decidedly not the best for the Philadelphia Flyers. From injuries to lukewarm effort, it was a year to forget. With the off season coming in fast, roster management become a daily preoccupation.

Claude Giroux was the target of a lot of rumors in the past months, especially around the trade deadline. It seamed like Giroux was about to be moved and many expected him to be traded in a monstrous deal that never materialized. It's unclear whether Hextall actually entertained the idea or not, but it's irrelevant by now.

With the off season coming, Giroux could decide to lift his no-trade clause and move somewhere else. It was unlikely, but he told CSNPhilly.com clearly that it wouldn't happen.

"I've been in Philly for nine years and I don't plan on leaving. Like I said, it's not for me to make those decisions, and I'm not leaving."

You can't be much clearer than that. Giroux was slowed by his abdominal and hip injuries this year, even though he told everyone he was 100% at the beginning of the season. Hopefully, he will truly be back in full force next year and dominate hockey like he used to!
