The Philadelphia Flyers have completely turned their season around, so much so that they now looked poised to make it into the post season when after the first month of the season many were wondering how high they would draft.

The Flyers recent resurgence is hard to explain, however the stellar play of rookie defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere as well as solid performances in goal from both Steve Mason and Michael Neuvirth have certainly played a big factor. However the Flyer's captain, Claude Giroux, revealed the reason he believes the team is playing so well, an injury to a certain reporter.

"Since Tim Panaccio got [his] lower-body injury, we started playing better," said Giroux as per CSN Philly.

Paaccio for those who don't know is arguably the beat writer who is closest to the team, which is why Giroux is aware of the fact a reporter was hurt in the first place. Obviously this was meant as a joke, and everyone took it that way, and Panaccio gave an equally hilarious response.

"The sad irony is, the G-man is absolutely correct," said Panaccio as per Sarah Baicker.

One now has to wonder if the Panaccio curse will rear it's ugly head once he has fully recovered.
