Fans were banging too hard on the glass and hurt the poor keeper…

We know fans in Boston can be rowdy and there was proof of it on Friday during Game 3 of the series between the Bruins and Carolina Hurricanes.
During the second period, fans were banging on the glass of the penalty box. It fell on off-ice NHL official, the poor keeper, who was knocked out cold. Teams had to stop the play as the keeper was tended to. Play was whistled dead with 5:07 left in the second period.
TNT reports that his name is Joe Foley. He appeared woozy, but was responsive. Trainers and medics were on the ice, removing the glass and checking on the poor man, who needed to be stretched out.
This is what happened:
Players from both teams skated over to see how he was doing: some were kneeling, praying for Foley.
This is a freak accident, but it shows how dangerous it is for fans to bang hard on the glass during games. We send our thoughts and prayers to Foley and hope fans in Boston have learned their lesson.
Foley was taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons and is reportedly doing okay.
