The St. Louis Blues have traded goalie Malcolm Subban to the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for future considerations.

As the trade was confirmed, it was announced that Subban was assigned him to the Cleveland Monsters in the American Hockey League.

This is a depth move for Columbus.

Here is the playing report of Subban from the team’s official announcement of the trade:


“Subban, 30, has posted a 36-33-9 record with a 3.10 goals-against average (GAA), .898 save percentage (SV%) and three shutouts in 86 career NHL games with the Buffalo Sabres, Chicago Blackhawks, Vegas Golden Knights and Boston Bruins over eight seasons from 2014-22. He made his NHL debut with Boston in 2014-15 and posted single-season career bests with Vegas in 2017-18, finishing with a 13-4-2 record, 2.68 GAA and a .910 SV% in 22 outings.

"The Toronto, Ontario native has gone 89-75-32 with a 2.62 GAA, .912 SV% and eight shutouts in 202 career AHL games with the Springfield Falcons, Rochester American, Rockford IceHogs and Providence Bruins over seven campaigns from 2013-24. He registered an 11-14-4 record with a 2.94 GAA and .907 SV% in 31 appearances with Springfield in 2023-24.

"Subban finished his junior career with a 64-42-6 record, 2.52 GAA and .921 SV% in 118 contests with the Belleville Bulls in the Ontario Hockey League from 2009-13. He led the OHL in GAA and SV% in his final campaign in 2012-13 with a 29-11-4 record, 2.14 GAA, .934 SV% and five shutouts in 46 games with the Bulls. The 6-2, 215-pound netminder was originally drafted by the Bruins in the first round, 24th overall, at the 2012 NHL Draft.”
