The 29 year old goalie gets a fresh start.
This just in, 29 year old free agent goaltender Alexandar Georgiev has signed a one year, $825,000 contract with the Buffalo Sabres.
The Sabres will be Georgiev's third team in two seasons after splitting 2024-25 between the San Jose Sharks and the Colorado Avalanche. He struggled mightily with both teams and it appeared that he would have a tough time finding employment in the NHL for 2025-26.
Interestingly enough, Georgiev may still find it difficult to find a job as the Sabres' crease is pretty overstocked. They've got Ukko-Pekka Luukonen, Alex Lyon and Devon Levi all under contract for the upcoming season. Add Georgiev to the mix and they really muddy the waters.
