Uh oh... does this point to a serious injury for a contending team?
This just in, the Tampa Bay Lightning have claimed goaltender Pheonix Copley off of waivers.
Why is this such a big deal?
Lightning superstar goaltender Andrei Vasilevsky has yet to play a game this preseason due to injury, but is/was suspected to start tonight in the team's final preseason game. That seems in doubt now and there's a belief amongst the team's fanbase that Vasilevsky is out long-term and that Copley could be a safety net.
The Lightning now have Vasilevsky, Copley and Jonas Johansson under contract. Stay tuned for an update on Vasilevsky.
