Goaltender back with his team after scary incident.
It was a scary moment for fans in Boston, and fans of "The Monster" Jonas Gustavsson appeared to have potentially had an ancient injury flare back up.
For those of you who don't know, Gustavsson has battled cardiac conditions throughout his National Hockey League career, and when it was revealed that the "illness" that forced him off the ice and caused him to be taken to hospital was heart-related, there was very legitimate cause for concern. However Gustavsson said he wasn't particularly worried.
"I wasn’t too worried about it... it's always best to make sure everything is OK and that’s what we did," said the Bruins goalie.
However according to the Bruins, the irregular heartbeat Gustavsson suffered was not a cause for concern, and after being evaluated by the team's medical staff, he has been cleared to return to full on ice participation. As a result Malcolm Subban has been returned to the AHL to make room for the return of "The Monster.
