We're in the midst of arbitration season in the National Hockey League, and there were a total of 22 players who elected to file for said arbitration. But thanks to today's update, there is now one less player on that list.

Brett Howden, who scored five goals with four assists for Vegas during the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs, has agreed to a two-year contract extension worth $3.8 million.

He racked up 13 points in 54 regular season games for Vegas, who would go on to win the Stanley Cup this spring for the first time in franchise history.

He's previously played for the New York Rangers after having been originally drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning. How will he be able to perform this season in Vegas now with his contract issues out of the way and the ability to fully focus on the task at hand that is the upcoming campaign? We'll find out, as training camp is just over a month away!

Just imagine the beaming smile that Howden and the rest of his teammates will have as they watch their Stanley Cup banner raised to the rafters at this fall's home opener at T-Mobile Arena!
