Injury forces Godden Knights to make a major lineup change.
The Vegas Golden Knights will be without their captain for Game 4 of their second round series against the Anaheim Ducks.
The Golden Knights have confirmed that Mark Stone has officially been ruled out of Game 4 due to injury, Stone had previously appeared in all 9 of the Golden Knights games in the 2026 Stanley Cup playoffs.
This is obviously a huge loss for the Golden Knights but not one that they haven't become accustomed to with Stone dealing with an onslaught of injuries over the course of the past several seasons. In fact Stone was once again very limited during the regular season, appearing in just 60 games for the Golden Knights, and the ability of his body to hold up through the rigors of an NHL season have become a constant cause for concern.
The Golden Knights have also named their replacement for Game 4 with veteran NHL forward Brandon Saad tasked with stepping into the lineup for tonight's game against the Ducks.
Saad has not played in a single playoff game for the Golden Knights so far and will have to shake off some rust as he steps into the lineup tonight. Saad last hit the ice all the way back on April 11th during a game against the Colorado Avalanche, and Saad played just over 10 minutes in that contest.
Over his 49 games with the Golden Knights this season, Saad had 3 goals and 6 assists for 9 points.
