Golden Knights furious after two tough calls in Game 3.
The Golden Knights are not the least bit happy on the bench in the second period of Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final, and it's hard to blame them given the circumstances.
The Golden Knights have been dealt a gut-wrenching series of blows in the form of a pair of brilliant coach's challenges from Carolina Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind'Amour, challenges that have wiped 2 goals off of the board for the Golden Knights.
The first goal would come courtesy of Golden Knights captain Mark Stone who found himself all alone against Hurricanes goaltender Frederik Andersen and made no mistake. Stone buried his opportunity by going five hole on Andersen, leaving the Hurricanes goalie staring up at the sky in disbelief.
Unfortunately for Stone the goal would be challenged for an offside earlier in the play and you already know what comes next.
Stone's reaction said it all as the officials broadcast the result of their review, with Stone burying his head and uttering a curse that could not be heard on the broadcast.
Unfortunately the frustration would only mount from there for the Golden Knights with yet another goal coming off the board later in the first period. Once again it would be Rod Brind'Amour who would issue the challenge on the play, this time however for goaltender interference rather than an off-side.
There was plenty of contact with goaltender Frederik Andersen on the play and it didn't take the officials very long to come back with the result of their review, another goal taken off the board for the Golden Knights.
