Earlier this month, the Vegas Golden Knights stunned everyone - including their own players - when they fired coach Gerard Gallant to replace him with Peter DeBoer, the former head coach of their rivals San Jose Sharks.

On Tuesday, the team announced yet another coaching change, adding Steve Spott to their staff. Spott. has been named an assistant coach with the Golden Knights.

When Gallant was dismissed, assistant head coach Mike Kelly was also let go. Spott therefore comes in as a replacement to complete the coaching staff.

Spott joins the Golden Knights after most recently serving under DeBoer with the Sharks organization from 2015-19. In that time, Spott helped guide the Sharks to a record of 198-129-34 and an appearance in the 2016 Stanley Cup Final. Prior to working with the Sharks, Spott spent the 2014-15 season as an assistant coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

It only makes sense that DeBoer brings one of his own on board in Vegas.
