Golden Knights pull off goalie trade with Sharks!

Looks like they decided to get reinforcements after all!

Michael W.

The Vegas Golden Knights will be without the services of starting goaltender Robin Lehner for the entire 2022-23 NHL season, as he's undergoing surgery on not one but both of his hips.

There have been rumors persisting as to whom the Golden Knights could look to potentially acquire to start between the pipes in Lehner's stead, as they would certainly be throwing young Logan Thompson to the wolves if they were to make him their full-time starters despite his flashes late last season of showing he's a capable goaltender.

And while last week general manager Kelly McCrimmon announced that the Golden Knights would be moving forward with the tandem of Thompson and Laurent Brossoit, he appears to have had a change of heart. Minutes ago, it was announced that Vegas has acquired goaltender Adin Hill from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for a 4th round draft selection:

For Hill, he'll be joining his third team in as many years.

Originally selected by the Arizona Coyotes with the 76th overall pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, Hill would spend the first few seasons of his career within the organization before being dealt to the Sharks last year along with a seventh-round pick to the Sharks in exchange for Josef Korenar and a second-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft. Last year with the Sharks, Hill was limited to 25 games thanks to injury troubles, and posted a 10-11-1 record with a 2.66 goals against average and .906 save percentage.

In a total of 74 NHL contests, Hill sports a record of 29-32 and 5 while earning a 2.74 goals against average and .908 save percentage with five shutouts.
