The golfer who clashed with former NHLer Nick Tarnasky has issued a public statement.
It is the middle of the summer as far as National Hockey League players are concerned and that often means that you can find many an NHL player, past and present, playing the greens at their local golf course.
That was a lesson that one particular golfer learned the hard way this week when he crossed paths with former NHL player Nick Tarnasky, and did so in rather unfortunate fashion. The golfer, who had clearly had far too much to drink, was involved in a confrontation with Tarnasky that has since gone viral and has been shared countless times across all social media platforms.
It was a rather embarrassing moment for the golfer in question and one could understand if he chose to remain out of the public eye for the rest of his life after an incident like that, but he has instead decided to step forward and reveal himself.
Rather than hide from the embarrassing moment, a video has emerged from Instagram account trevor.ogilvie.94 in which a man who bears a close resemblance to the golfer who clashed with Tarnasky makes a statement.
In the video the man pokes a little fun at himself before he then goes on to make a public apology, taking full ownership of his actions and laying none of the blame on Tarnasky himself.
"Yup that's me guys, the guy that got dropped like a bucket of balls in a pond," he said. "Not my finest moment I know, looks real bad."
The apology did not extend only to Tarnasky, who was not mentioned by name in the video, but to anyone who he may have encountered and upset with his drunken behavior on the golf course that day.
"We drank way too much... I'd like to apologize to all the folks on the course, anyone caught up in it and anyone who had to deal with me that day," he admitted.
While I am sure there are many who will still hold it against him, I do give him full marks for coming out publicly and owning his mistake and taking full accountability for his actions. Hopefully it proves to be a learning moment.
