Gotta See It: Sens owner is FIRED UP over team’s victory

How cool is this?

The Ottawa Senators are the breakout stars of this season’s NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. The team that no one expected to get past the first round is now onto the Eastern Conference finals and Sens fans are taking to social media to celebrate. And there’s perhaps no fan more prominent than team owner Eugene Melnyk.

Immediately following last night’s 4-2 victory over the New York Rangers, the notoriously tight-fisted but emotional owner took to Twitter to exclaim his appreciation for his team.

How cool is that? You don’t see too many NHL owners get behind their team in such a public way, so it’s nice to see Melnyk stepping out from the shadows to show some emotion. We’ll expect Melnyk will be right there alongside his team the rest of the way and he’ll surely be watching tonight to see whether they’ll face off against the Washington Capitals or Pittsburgh Penguins in the Eastern Conference finals.
