Two games. Two game? Two games! That’s all Slovenian forward Ziga Jeglic will miss in his suspension from the IIHF after his brutal attempt to kick Swiss forward Thomas Rufenacht in the throat. Yes, you read that correct: Jeglic attempted to kick Rufenacht in the throat. He wasn’t really successful, in that Rufenacht did not appear to be injured on the play, but it’s a ridiculously dangerous play that has to be seen the be believed:

Are you kidding me? This isn’t Karate Kid, buddy! Wherever your allegiances lie, I think we can all agree that there’s no place for kicking in the game of hockey. After all, the players are essentially wearing sharpened knives on their feet, so the risk for catastrophic, life-ending injury is always present. What do you think? Should the IIHF have thrown the book at Jeglic for this play? Two games seems like a slap on the wrist.
