Gotta See It: Team Italy FAIL leads to hilarious own goal

Oh my. If you’ve ever had a bad day at the office, just watch this sequence from team Italy in their tournament ending game against Denmark at the IIHF World Championships.

I mean…what are you doing!? We can’t help but feel bad for the Italian defender on this play, but that’s about as bad as it gets. His stumble, his perfect pass to the back of the net and the shameful glance away as he buries the game for his team…it’s all just perfect. 

The 2-0 loss caps off a dreadful 0-1-7 tournament for Italy who will now be forced to play a relegation game for inclusion in hockey’s top division for next year’s tournament. What a way to go out. Ouch.
